“The dress” is the most important accessory a bride will have. Once she says yes to the dress, it feels like everything will be alright but hold up, before you walk the aisle with it, think of these several factors that will make your dress fit you like a dream, from your neckline down to the hem.

1. Duration of Changes
Be wary of how long the alterations will take. Consider a longer allowance in case you want to make two or more changes to your dress. Avoid last-minute worries by planning ahead.
2. Cost and Damage
Every modification might cost you a penny so consider putting this into your budget. Better yet, make all the changes in one go. Also, discuss with your dressmaker regarding the damage policies just in case.
3. Movement
You are definitely gonna bust a move on your wedding party so make sure you bust a seam. During your fitting, practice how you will sit with your dress on. Sway or try dancing and see how comfortable you are. If not, make the necessary adjustments that will allow you to breathe and have fun.

4. Extra touches
During the fitting, bring your accessories to see if what will go best with your dress or what will not. See how your dress will look like with your shoe choices. Check if your pieces of jewelry will complement your gown and if it’s just the right amount. Have a glimpse of what you really want to look like on your wedding day.
