First We Met

We met at VXI, both working as call center agents for AT&T U-verse. I, Sakura, was a newly hired trainee on my second day. I was totally lost looking for the training room when the guard pointed me to the last room down the hallway.
I opened the door and saw a man sleeping on his desk — Daniel.
I tapped him gently and said, “Kuya, dito po ba yung training room ng AT&T U-verse?”
He didn’t even budge, so I tapped him again. And again. Finally, he lifted his head with the most annoyed look ever and snapped, “Ano?! Oo, dito!”
I just stood there like… Wow. Sungit. Kala mo naman pogi. 😒😂
First Date

Our first official date as mag-jowa was on February 4, 2016. Ironically, we broke up a month after—but that day is still one of those memories that sticks.
We went to Quiapo, Manila. He toured me around like it was his hometown, we rode a kalesa, and spent the whole day just walking, talking, and getting lost in the chaos of the streets. It wasn’t fancy, but it was one of those simple, memorable days that felt like the world slowed down just for us.
In A Relationship

We actually broke up a month after February 4. And honestly, it was because of me—Sakura—being childish and immature (which… okay fine, was true, lol).
But even after that, Daniel didn’t stop. He kept persuading me, showing up, trying to make things right in all the quiet, consistent ways only he could. One of my girlfriends kept telling me to give him a chance, to open my eyes a bit more.
And eventually, I realized she was right. I had someone in front of me who was mature, kind, gentle, and who loved me truly. On that day, I finally let myself see it—and that became the beginning of our wonderfully chaotic, perfectly imperfect rollercoaster together.
We're Engaged

After nine years of ups and downs, successes and failures, fights and love, he finally cracked the question.
He booked a hotel room because I’d been wanting to go swimming so badly after a rough few weeks. It was supposed to be just a simple day to breathe, unwind, and escape everything for a moment.
We were about to leave the room when I started going through our things. And when I turned my back, there he was—standing behind me, looking nervous but sure—asking, “Luluhod pa ba ’ko?”
I froze for a second, then grabbed the ring and hugged him tightly.
All this time, I thought I wanted a big surprise—flowers, music, balloons, the whole Pinterest proposal. But no. There was no video, no setup, no dramatic background music. Just us. Again. Like always.
And I realized I never wanted it any other way.
I said yes… and then we went straight to the pool.
