First We Met

We were introduced by our friend, "Mark."
It all started with, "Hello po, Ma'am" (since alam niya I am a professor), and I replied, "Student ba kita? Ekis ka na agad."
Days went by, and we started talking—going from shallow conversations to deeper ones. We began sharing about life, dreams, and our goals.
He showed me consistency to the point that I was able to memorize his routine: at 6 AM, he'd text "Good morning, Ma'am"; at 12 PM, "Kain ka na, Ma'am"; and at 6 PM, "Bahay na ako. Kumusta araw mo?"
And that’s how our talking stage began…
First Date

After more than a month of talking daily, we finally had our first date at Robinsons Metro East. I got to meet the man I had been talking to. We had dinner at Peri-Peri. At first, he was a bit shy, which I can relate to, especially around strangers. But to my surprise, I felt so at peace with him. We ended up talking, sharing stories, and laughing nonstop.
After that date, the courting began. Although JB said he didn’t know how to court, day by day, up to now, I’ve felt like he’s still courting me.
We've gone on countless dates, food trips, and road trips, and he even accompanies me on errands. He picks me up and drops me off at work—my hatid-sundo and acts of service man.
In A Relationship

After almost five months of talking, courting, and dating, I finally said "YES" to being his girlfriend. I ordered a customized keychain with our picture and one of my favorite Bible verses. I placed it inside a box and wrote a note: "ALWAYS BE SAFE. I LOVE YOU, BABE." That was when I said my first "I LOVE YOU" to him.
Being the slow guy he is, he didn’t understand it at first. It wasn’t until we went to the rooftop to view the city lights of Antipolo that I asked, "Di mo nagets yung note ko, no?" He replied, still shocked and speechless, "Ha? Wait, sinasagot mo na ako?"
Parang that moment, I wanted to take it back. Hahaha.
Looking back, those months felt both long and short at the same time. I used to think courtship should last about 1-2 years, but meeting the right one changes everything. It doesn’t really matter anymore.
We're Engaged

On our first anniversary, he proposed, and without hesitation, I said "YES."
We were casually opening our gifts for each other. He said he’d open my gift first. We were already in tears—he was so touched by what I gave him. When it was my turn, I cried non-stop. It was an explosive gift box, where as you open the big box, another layer pops open, and on each side, there was a letter and a picture of us. It was the best handmade gift ever. And in the smallest box was the most beautiful ring I’ve ever had, because I knew how much he had sacrificed for it.
JB is a man full of plans and dreams for our relationship. He’s always been vocal about his plans, so there was never any doubt in my heart that we’d reach this point in our lives.
