First We Met

We met the modern way—on a dating app, both of us scrolling through tiny windows of strangers, not really expecting anything magical. Then there was that profile.
Something about it made us pause. Maybe it was the smile, or the words that felt honest instead of rehearsed. So one of us took a small leap of courage and sent a message—nothing fancy, just enough to say hi, I see you.
The reply came faster than expected. And then another. And another.
Soon, our conversations stretched longer than we planned. We talked about little things first—music, favorite foods, random thoughts at 2 a.m. Somehow, without noticing, the little things turned into meaningful ones. Laughter slipped into the messages. Comfort did too.

We're Engaged
May 06, 2024It happened at Tokyo Disney Sea, just before closing, when the crowds had thinned and the lights reflected softly on the water. We were tired, happy, and lingering, not quite ready to leave. The closing announcement echoed in the distance as you stopped walking and took my hand.
You didn’t make it a big moment. You just asked me to marry you, like it was the obvious next step. I said yes while the park quietly shut down around us, the day ending and something else beginning.
