Our story began in the most unexpected way. We first met when my best friend, Ylka, introduced Ian to me while we were playing outside our classroom. He was actually a year younger than us, so at the time it was just a simple introduction between schoolmates.

After weeks of texting, we had our first date at the BPCS Grand Stand. We were both so quiet we barely spoke—but that was perfectly fine. I remember Ian’s strong perfume and how we spent hours just sitting together, enjoying the simple quiet.

After a little argument (because what’s a love story without one?), Ian surprised me with a ring on our son’s 3rd birthday. No big proposal, no dramatic speeches—just him, me, and a tiny piece of jewelry that said, “Yep, we’re sticking together.” Sometimes love is perfectly simple…and perfectly us.
