Our Love Story
First We Met
April 27, 2018
We first met through a mutual friend back in 2018. What started as casual conversations turned into late-night talks that neither of us wanted to end. After months of getting to know each other, we finally decided to meet up — mostly because we were curious where all those endless conversations were leading us. Turns out, it was leading us here.
First Date

We decided to meet at his cousin’s restaurant… which was funny because it turned out to be one of my favorite chicken spots already. Plot twist: his cousin owned the exact place we used to order lunch from all the time back when I was still working at the hospital. Small world. Also, their salted egg chicken is still undefeated.
Since I came straight from work and the restaurant was close to the hospital, we decided to have dinner there. He even picked me up, and I still remember joking, “What’s your plate number again? I might accidentally get into the wrong car.”
Thankfully, I got into the right one — because that first date turned into more dates, endless late night conversations, and eventually, this love story.
In A Relationship

I never really believed in super long courtships. For me, when it’s the right person, you just know.
Before Emman, I had met a few people here and there, but no one ever made me think, “Okay… I actually want this to be serious.” Then he came along — the guy I could talk to for hours, laugh with effortlessly, and never seem to get tired of. Being with him just felt easy from the very beginning.
So after almost two months… I said yes. Pretty fast, honestly.
People always say, “What comes fast, won’t last.” But honestly? We think sometimes you simply meet the person meant for you — and when you do, your heart just knows. I trusted my instincts, listened to my heart, and thankfully… it led me to him.
We're Engaged

A few days after my birthday, Emman and I finally got to celebrate together after spending so much time apart because of his work. I thought we were just heading to Tagaytay for a simple lunch with my best friend, Hannah… turns out, it was a proposal.
Looking back, the clues were there. Emman showed up carrying a jacket in the middle of a warm afternoon and handed it straight to Hannah — because the ring was hidden inside the pocket the whole time. Meanwhile, I stayed completely clueless.
At the restaurant, Hannah suddenly disappeared, Emman became unusually quiet, and a few moments later, dessert arrived with “Will you marry me?” written on the plate beside the ring.
Then he got down on one knee… and the easiest “yes” of my life followed right after.
