Our Love Story
First We Met
May 01, 2015
We first met at Classic Savory. He was one of the team members, and I was a cashier. At the beginning, we didn’t really get along. He was the serious type, and I used to call him Kuya Marco. We were both in relationships at that time, so love was the last thing on our minds.
But life has its own timing.
When our respective relationships ended, we slowly grew closer. What started as simple conversations turned into laughter, comfort, and understanding. I began to see the softer side of the serious “Kuya” I once knew.
From Kuya… to Honey.
From Minamahal… to Sweetie.
Our love didn’t start with sparks — it started with growth, friendship, and perfect timing. And sometimes, that’s the most beautiful kind of love story.
First Date
December 01, 2015
Since being in a relationship with a co-worker was prohibited, we had to keep everything low-key. What we had was ours — quiet, careful, and a little bit daring.
We would sneak out just to spend time together. From having the same shifts, stealing glances across the counter, to finding little excuses just to walk out at the same time.
Our simple dates meant the world to us. Eating together at Jollibee, laughing over nothing, feeling like the whole place disappeared when we were talking. Then we’d stop by the supermarket for our so-called merienda — a Marby egg pie paired with coffee. It wasn’t fancy. It wasn’t expensive. But it was ours.
Those small, ordinary moments became the foundation of something extraordinary.
Because sometimes, love doesn’t need grand gestures.
It just needs two people willing to risk a little… for something that feels right.
In A Relationship
February 28, 2016
It was already the end of my shift that day. I was about to go home, tired but excited — because somehow, I knew he would find a way to see me before I left.
He exchanged places with the current receptionist just so we could talk for a few minutes.
Then he did something I will never forget.
He took the reservation logbook — yes, the same logbook we use at Classic Savory — and instead of writing a customer’s name, he wrote:
“Will you be my Sweetie?”
☐ Yes
☐ No
My heart was pounding. It wasn’t a grand gesture. There were no flowers. No dramatic music. Just us, inside the workplace where we first didn’t even get along.
And of course…
I checked “Yes.” ❤️
From calling him Kuya Marco…
To secretly sharing meals at Jollibee…
To Marby egg pie and coffee as our favorite merienda…
To sneaking moments between shifts…
That simple checkbox became the start of our forever.
Because sometimes, the best love stories begin in the most unexpected places— between logbooks and shared shifts.
We're Engaged

That day, I wasn’t feeling well, so I filed a leave. All I wanted was to rest. Little did I know, Marco and my siblings were already planning something beautiful behind my back. At past 5 PM, he received a call from Maria saying that Ate Grace had an emergency. I rushed to take a bath. My heart was worried, my mind distracted.
I told Marco to prepare my dress. When I saw what he laid out — a sleeveless terno and a skirt — I immediately changed it to something simpler: pants and a blouse. It was getting late, and I thought it would be cold. When we arrived at Abbey's Kitchenette, the song Through the Years started playing.
And there he was. On one knee. Holding a ring. Waiting for me. In that moment, everything made sense.
It was a very wonderful surprise. I wasn’t glamorous. I wasn’t dressed up. I wasn’t prepared. But maybe that’s what made it perfect. Just pure simplicity.
Surrounded by my family.
And the love of my life choosing me — again.
From Kuya to Sweetie to fiancé.
