First We Met

During her freshman year in high school at Arellano, fate quietly wrote the first line of their story. During a PTA meeting, he came with his mother to visit his sister, who happened to be her classmate. They were in the same place at the same time, yet neither of them knew that this small moment would one day become part of a beautiful story.
Years later, their paths crossed again at TVHB Church. As teenagers, they both served as Sunday school teachers, sharing the same ministry and the same heart for serving. One Christmas, their ministry gathered to celebrate together. They were there, in the same room, part of the same celebration, yet they simply went on with the day, ignoring each other’s presence.
Little did they know that this quiet moment was only the beginning of a story still waiting to unfold.
First Date

Their first date was nothing fancy, yet it felt meaningful in its quiet way. They went to Cuaderno Fil-Mex Book Café, a cozy little place filled with books and the scent of coffee, chosen because of her love for both. That day, they wandered among the shelves, shared stories, laughed at small things, and slowly discovered each other beyond friendship. There were no grand gestures, only the gentle unfolding of something new—a warmth that grew from presence and willingness to be together. In its simplicity, the day marked the first chapter of their story, built not on extravagance, but on shared moments, quiet joy, and the natural bloom of a love that had been quietly waiting to grow.

Their story didn’t follow the usual path. From a quiet first encounter at a high school PTA meeting to crossing paths years later as teenage Sunday school teachers, they shared the same spaces while existing in each other’s presence. Over time, their friendship slowly blossomed, built on laughter and shared moments. One day, almost naturally, they decided to take their friendship to the next level and become a couple. Ironically, their first official date only happened months after they became official, proving that love doesn’t always follow the usual rules. It just simply grows in its own perfect time.

He proposed to her on her birthday, a day already meant for celebration. He decided to host a swimming birthday gathering, inviting both of their families. For someone as introverted as he was, who didn’t enjoy loud gatherings or being the center of attention, it was completely out of his comfort zone. She never expected anything more than a simple birthday celebration, and certainly not a proposal. Yet, there he was, turning an ordinary day into a moment she would never forget. Surrounded by family, laughter, and the gentle ripple of the pool, he asked her to be his forever. In that quiet, unexpected, and surprisingly brave way, a new chapter of their story began.
