Rami and Yen first crossed paths in the halls of SGBS. It was a quick, random encounter—so quick that he doesn’t even remember it.
It wasn’t until the SGBS Mr. and Ms. competition that they probably noticed each other —but nothing more. He stood on stage as a contestant, while she was behind the scenes as a supportive friend and stylist to her girl pal who was also a contestant.
At the time, it wasn’t anything romantic. Rami was quite popular, and everyone knew he was already in a relationship, so their story remained unwritten, a simple connection left to time.
Little did they know, what once seemed like a passing chapter was only the beginning of something meant to find its way back—at just the right moment.
Time passed, Rami and Yen were each living their own separate lives. Yen realized she didn’t want to be with anyone who wasn’t fully committed, so she ended her relationship. Little did she know, Rami had also broken up with his longterm girlfriend months earlier and was trying to move on in his own way.
While Yen was focusing on herself, enjoying life, and even going on an out-of-town trip to La Union with 2 of her closest friends to chill and relax, Rami and her started chatting—around April 2016.
Then, in a bold move, Rami asked Yen out to dinner on May 7, 2016, at a ramen place. And the rest, as they say, was history.
And then… you know what ramen brought? baby! 😆
They found out they were pregnant when he came back from his birthday trip to Boracay with his brother and his brother’s girlfriend visiting from Argentina. Since they were officemates, they figured it was time to make things official—not that they cared about gossip, but, you know… some things are just proper. So, naturally, they went ig official.
That was also the time he came over to Yen's house to properly introduce himself to her father and family in Bulacan, and eventually to her mother and late grandmother in Pangasinan. Who knew a little out-of-town trip with friends posting adventure photos in ig, casual chats then a ramen dinner could lead to all of these?
After 10 years together, in the soft glow of the afternoon, Rami casually asked Yen to marry him. No fancy words, no engagement ring at the time, and no cheering crowd—just the two of them, quietly, after arriving home from church.
It was simple. It was real. And somehow, that made it even more perfect.
